The Mixx serves fresh, fast, health-minded food. We prep from scratch and source ingredients with integrity, prioritizing options that are unprocessed, non-GMO certified and free of preservatives and high-fructose corn syrup. It’s why so many of our customers come back regularly…they say our food makes them feel great!
Kansas City’s first healthy fast-casual restaurant, The Mixx menu offers salads — made-to-order in front of you in as little as 30 seconds — plus sandwiches, soups, wraps, plates and quinoa bowls, all dreamed up by founder Jo Marie Scaglia.
The Mixx opened in 2005 in Kansas City’s Plaza neighborhood and quickly became a local favorite, adding locations in Downtown Kansas City in 2009 and Hawthorne Plaza at 119th & Roe in 2015. In 2018, Jo Marie opened The Mixx’s sister restaurant, Caffetteria, in The Village Shops at 71st and Mission.
With the planet in mind
To minimize waste, we serve eat-in orders with real tableware and carry-out orders with compostable and recyclable containers. (Just say no to styrofoam, please!) As of 2019, we are moving toward composting at all of our locations.
Everything from scratch
When founder Jo Marie told her restaurateur parents she was opening a fast-casual restaurant with all scratch-made salad dressings, they thought she was crazy. But her commitment to the best is what has made The Mixx, well, the best.
