Introduction
Welcome -- and thank you for being a part of The Mixx’s new website and my first-ever blog entry!! As an introduction, I will tell you some straight facts about me, The Mixx and how we have gotten where we are and where we hope we might be going. But before I do that, I want to welcome you to The Mixx’s new website and my blog. I will be posting updates regularly and often – and they will be about the things that I love most: good food, new and creative recipes, inspiration for creating a beautiful environment, how to entertain casually and formally, and how to find your inner-Mixx…
I believe that the best way to know someone is to be a part of something that they love, something that defines them. For me, it’s creating The Perfect Bite in the Perfect Setting at that Perfect Moment.
So for those of you who think you don’t know me, in fact, you really do – Because The Mixx is such a perfect expression of who I am, what I love to do, and what makes me, well, me.
In the last four years (even I cannot believe it’s been four whole years!), I have taken a dream of mine and turned into a real, live thing. That “thing” is The Mixx! Since I was a little girl and I would play “restaurant,” I knew that one day, I would have a place to call my own and run the show. What can I say, I think it is in my genetic makeup.
I have a certain sense of how I want things to be, what it will take to get there, and to never say never. And, most importantly, I believe that food – and not just food in the sense of “there’s something to eat, that will make me full,” but food, the real kind of food that actually nourishes, that makes you feel happy and satisfied, and maybe even inspired – is one of life’s most simple and most wonderful things.
And it’s not just the food alone either. For me, it’s about a whole-experience. As friends of mine can attest, I rarely hold back or dial it down. So when plans were underway to build and open The Mixx, basically, you’re experiencing what I dreamt. And now, I’m gearing up to open our second location, downtown, and once again, you’ll see a full expression of who I am and what I want it to be.
I am, my restaurant is – and my blog will be -- authentic and genuine, a real reflection of who I am, what I love most, what makes me feel best. I hope you will visit often and come along with me. It should be lots of fun…
